Birthday Parties!

The Inventor Mentor has a host of exciting and fantastic science activities for your child's birthday party! Many of the activities showcase amazing scientfic phenomena and inventions, and some of them are a mix of invent and play: kids make an invention (like a rocket or a water balloon catcher) and then get to play with it!

Each birthday party lasts an hour and a half and is suitable for children ages 6 and up. A party costs $250 for up to 15 children, and is $10 extra for each additional child. If this rate isn't affordable, please contact me!

Generally, a party can accomodate 2 of the following activities:
  • The Kid Launcher -- Kids are launched on an inflatable snow sled down a slip and slide. It's great for hot, sunny days. (this can be combined with water cannons too!)
  • Water bottle rockets -- Kids can learn how to launch 2-liter soda bottles into the air as rockets with a bicycle pump. Children can attach wings, decorations, or small airplanes to the rocket itself to learn more about how rocketry and aerodynamics work.
  • Air tube rockets and gliders -- Kids get to make their own high pressure air rockets, and then launch them. Kids can experiment with different rocket designs throughout the party.
  • Big bubble wands -- Kids can use wants and special state-of-the-art bubble solution to make giant bubbles. These work wonderfully on humid days. Kids can play with the bubbles, make games with them, or use them as targets for other toys and inventions.
  • The Airzooka and smoke rings -- Kids explore the amazing properties of the air zooka -- a simple air cannon toy -- and also see how the Airzooka works when we fill it with smoke and launch smoke rings! For older children, we can look into the math of why this happens. Also for older children: we can fill the Airzooka with propane and shoot fire rings.)
  • Water wars -- It's what it sounds like. This features dozen of water cannons, water ball launchers, spritzers, squirters, and water balloons! This can be done as the last half hour of any party. Swim goggles are recommended for this for eye protection.
  • Water balloon launchers -- We will set up a bungee cord to launch water balloons, and then kids make their own catchers out of tennis rackets. It's a great chance for kids to use their hands, make their own invention, and then have a blast playing water balloon catch!
  • Marshmallow launcher -- Kids can make their own blow-dart guns to shoot marshmallows with, and play with catching marshmallows from a larg air-powered marshmallow cannon. Another great mix of invention and play!
  • Fire skates demonstration -- A demonstration of extreme skating -- showcasing a personal invention of mine: fire skates! These skates shoot flames out of the back and have always impressed kids and adults!

We are completely open to custom themes and requests, and can accomodate longer or shorter parties. Please let us know what you're looking for!
